Kidney Stone Surgery – The Adventures of Supermom

Yesterday was a very rough day and I guess you can already say that today is going to be rough because I haven’t been to sleep yet.  I don’t know why I cannot close my eyes and actually go to sleep instead of hearing everything that is going on around me.

Sigh.

One thing is true though, I am so glad to be home.

Because I’m able to walk around in my tee and panties, not that I’m walking much because it hurts too badly and I’m hunched all over like I’m 100 years old and in need of a walker.

Walking is bad for me.

Surgery was yesterday and I’m in excruciating pain from having my kidney stone removed.  You’d think it would be the other way around with all the pain I’ve been in the past month.  But no, this pain is much worse.

My awesome doctor went on a kidney stone scavenger hunt and found one!  YAY ME!  I wasn’t able to see or touch the actual stone because it was sent off for analysis but he did take a picture for me.  It resembles the shape of a heart and I find it ironic because I DO NOT HEART kidney stones.  But anyway…

So after finding the stone he placed a stent running from my left kidney to my bladder.

It’s still there.

And it HURTS badly.

Like I cannot get my pain managed even though he sent me home with four different medications.
FOUR!

But they aren’t helping.

My urine is a bright orange though if that counts for anything.  Ha ha.

I’ve been on the couch ever since I got home and I’m still on the couch as I type this and everyone else is fast asleep.

But me.

Because I’m in pain.

I cannot get in a position where I am not in pain.

Doesn’t seem fair does it?

I hope that when I am able to sleep that I feel better.

I want to thank everyone for all their well wishes.  I feel so thankful.
