News is spreading about a new women’s product created by L’Oreal called ‘Kérastase Densifique’. It claims to be the first product to ‘reawaken’ dormant hair cells.

Scientists say they have developed a molecule called stemoxydine, which attempts to increase oxygen levels in the scalp and target a condition called ‘hypoxia’, which is found in many men and women suffering from hair loss.

A three month treatment course of Kérastase Densifique is to cost £300 and the producers say it is clinically proven to be effective for both men and women. According to L’Oreal, in a 3 month study 101 people found they had a 4% increase in the number of hairs they had. It does not seem the product has been licensed by the MHRA or FDA, so we will be keeping a close eye on developments related to this product and updating this page.
