Skin tags are a form of commonly occurring, benign polyp, which can appear in the as a flat piece of hanging skin, usually on the underarms, groin, or eyelids. Skin tags are not contagious, and not dangerous to your health, but they should be checked by a doctor if you notice discoloration in the surrounding area. If there is no discoloration, however, you can conduct safe skin tag removal from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

One easy method of skin tag removal is to tie up the base of the skin tag with a bit of thread or dental floss. This will effectively stop the blood supply from reaching the skin tag, and in a few days, the skin tag will fall off. Another easy skin tag removal method is to apply a few drops of vitamin E to the skin tag. Cover it with a cloth-type adhesive bandage, and leave it alone for several days. When you remove the bandage, the skin tag should come off with it. But the easiest removal method of all is to place a small piece of duct tape over the skin tag. Remove the tape carefully after a day or two, and see if the skin tag is ready to peel away painlessly. If not, wait a bit longer and try again. Soon the skin tag will be gone for good.
